When somebody comes to one of our campuses, we want to make sure anything they access online is consistent with Bayside values. For that reason, all of our networks have an aggressive content filter that blocks content we believe is inappropriate. (Your Bayside computer also has this even when you're not in one of our buildings)
We use an outside company for this service. Since no company can view every site on the Internet, they use an automated system to categorize websites.
Sometimes that causes legitimate sites to be blocked.
If you reach the block screen, scroll down and "submit" the site. We will look at the site and decide if it should be unblocked.
HINT: Often, sites are blocked because the person typed the website address incorrectly. Check and make sure this isn't the case.
Also, if you Google a site, never click on a listing labeled "Ad." It will likely be blocked. These are usually the top 3-8 website on the Google listing. Scroll down a little further and you'll find the same site without the "Ad" label.
