You can now send chat messages to your Services team & plans. These messages will function as Groups' messages do.
Where Is Your Inbox
Planning Center chat inboxes are universal. That means that all Services and Groups chats will appear in the same inbox. That inbox can be accessed from the Church Center App, the Services App, and all desktop Planning Center Applications by selecting the chat icon.
Starting New Conversations
You can create new conversations from either your inbox or directly from your plan.
- From your Inbox
1) Open your chat inbox, then select the blue "New conversation" button. Next, select which of your teams you would like to start a chat with.
2) If you would like to start a whole team chat, select the blue "Start conversation" button. Alternatively, you can use the toggle and drop-down to filter by plan before selecting the "Start Conversation" button.
- From the Plan
1) From your plan, select the chat icon, which is located next to the "Team actions" button.
2) Select the blue "Start conversation" button to message the entire team or use the toggle to chat with only a specific plan.
When chatting with a plan rather than the entire team, please remember that messages will only be seen once serve requests have been sent out.
Things To Know:
- Edit and Delete: Anyone can delete their own messages. Team Leaders can delete anyone’s messages. Deleted messages will show for everyone as "deleted".
- Under 13: Children under 13 will not be able to see messages.
- Adding and Removing Team Members: When a new team member is added, they are added to the team chat and can see history from before they are added. When a team member is removed from the team, they lose access to the chat (This does not apply to plan messages).
Chat Features:
- Photo & Video sharing: Use the + icon to send photos and videos.
- Link previews: Links now have inline previews. Also, you can play songs from Spotify links without leaving the chat conversation!
- GIFs: Click the lightning icon to search GIPHY.
