Creating a new list
First, open the People application in Planning Center. Next, select the "Lists" tab, and then the white "New List" button.
You can title your list by selecting "Edit" in the upper left corner. To start defining your list, select "Add Rule" in the center of the page.
Creating a list of Volunteers in Your Ministry Area Who Need Background Checks
Rule 1 will be: People > In a List > named > 18+ Served in the Last 9 months BC not Clear (Master)
Rule 2 will be: Services > Team Assignment > is > [select the Service type where your volunteers are scheduled here]>[Select the Team where your volunteers are scheduled here]
The second rule is where you specify your specific ministry area.

Saving Your List
To see your results and save your list for future use, click the blue "Submit" button in the bottom right corner. You must click the submit button anytime you add or change a rule on a list.
Sending an Email to Your List
To send an email to the list you created, navigate to the results tab in the upper left corner. Once on the results tab click the Send Message button that pictures a paper airplane icon on the left side of the screen. When the dropdown list appears, select "send email".
Please remember never to use the "Send through Mailchimp" option, and that you must receive permission from the Creative Department to send to lists over 499 people.
Setting Up Email Updates For Your List Results
From the "Settings" tab toggle on "Enable auto-refresh".
Select the frequency at which you wish to receive updates.
Search and select yourself (or whomever you wish to receive updates, this person must already be approved for People Access).
Please be sure NOT to select anything under the "Mailchimp status" section.
Sharing Your List
To share your list with another People user select the "Settings" tab then "Add Collaborator".
Select "A person...". Do not use any of the other options.
Search and click the name of the person you want to share with. Be sure this person is either another staff member or a volunteer who has already been approved and given People access.
"View only" can see all results, refresh your list, and duplicate your list. "Manage" can make edits to your rules.
